The 2026 edition of “100 Distinction – The Best Cellars” has officially come to a close in the prestigious city of Matera, hosted at the historic Palazzo Malvinni Malvezzi in Piazza Duomo.
Two truly unique days that brought together some of the world’s finest producers, along with more than 100 international delegations, both attending in person and joining remotely to take part in this exclusive event.
Every year, the event takes us to extraordinary destinations, and for the first time it was held in Italy, in Matera, one of Europe’s most ancient cities, a place of exceptional beauty, history and charm.
Communicating in ten different languages, welcoming international guests and bringing together the traditions and cultures of so many different countries is something that makes us deeply proud. In a world where dialogue is becoming increasingly difficult, marked by conflicts and divisions that go far beyond language, we are proud to have contributed to creating an opportunity for genuine and constructive exchange.
By recognising 100 companies, our aim was to highlight that the true protagonists are not simply the products, but the people behind them: those who, through dedication and sacrifice, are building the future of their companies, investing in organic production, adopting ethical standards and integrating sustainability into every aspect of their business.
These three principles “BES” (Biological, Ethical, Sustainable) formed the foundation of our producer selection and will remain at the heart of our work throughout the coming year, leading up to the next edition, which will once again take place in a prestigious destination on 20 and 21 October 2027.

The 100 Distinction award winners will also take centre stage in Rome on 15 December, on the occasion of the official presentation of the printed guide.
The event will bring together the award recipients, producers, oenologists, agronomists, communication professionals, as well as men and women who have distinguished themselves through their contribution to the industry.
